Our health visiting teams are continuing to support families and new babies in Cumbria.

However, due to the continued presence of COVID-19 and the necessary safety measures to contain the spread of this virus, Health Visitors are still only able to offer a reduced face to face service at this time.

Our health visitors will contact families and carers by phone initially and are trying to make home visits where it is safe to do so.

Baby clinics are still suspended until further notice and teams are looking at re-introducing appointment only clinics which families and carers will be invited to if necessary.

Health visitors have been unable to offer face to face developmental checks, but these are beginning to be re-introduced where possible and as clinic rooms become available. Teams are also continuing to offer advice or support over the phone. The team are all still contactable and available to answer any queries.

The health visiting service is working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect families and staff which has led to working in different ways. As more clinic rooms become available the teams hope to offer more face to face developmental reviews and appointment only clinics for families.

If you have any concerns regarding your child’s health please contact any member of the health visiting team.
