This year we're encouraging people in north Cumbria to be more involved in our Trust, and to take on a healthy activity that could influence others to be healthier too.

You can do all of this by joining our #PassTheBaton challenge!

To take part, just follow these 3 simple steps:

  1. become a member of our Trust (note: if you're a member of staff, you're already a member of the Trust and so can skip this step!)
  2. take part in a healthy activity (see our ideas below)
  3. post about it on Facebook or Twitter using #PassTheBaton and tag your friends and family to keep the relay going!

If you don't have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can still take part by emailing us at and telling us what you’ve been up to and we’ll share your achievement on this web page.

Why become a member of our Trust

Membership is free and open to anyone in Cumbria aged 14 and over. It’s up to you how much you’d like to be involved. As a member you’ll:

  • receive regular updates about the Trust
  • be invited to members-only events
  • find out about volunteer opportunities at the Trust
  • have a say in how our services are run and developed
  • be able to take part in other local health and wellbeing events like this

Healthy activity ideas

Taking part in a healthy activity means doing anything that improves your health and wellbeing. This could be:

  • going for a run
  • taking part in an exercise class
  • improving your sleep habits
  • making time for meditation
  • attending a health event
  • going for a health check-up

You do not have to run a marathon. Taking any small step towards improving your mind and body counts. If you need some inspiration, click the dropdown box below to find activities happening near you.
