Have you given birth in north Cumbria in the last 3 years?

We’re inviting you to share your experience of postnatal contraception after care, via a survey.

The survey will explore your experiences of accessing contraception care in the period after you have had a baby. The information you provide will help us to understand how and where women in the north Cumbria currently access postnatal contraception. We know that lots of women struggle to access contraception care in the weeks and months after they give birth. If we can understand where the barriers (as well as where services are doing well) it will help us to deliver better services for new mothers.

The research team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) are supporting this regional postnatal contraception study, called The PoCo Study, led by Newcastle University.

As part of the research, we will also are speaking to healthcare professionals who care for women during the postnatal period (midwives, doctors, health visitors and nurses) however it is the views and perspectives of those who use services that should be at the heart of any new national strategy intended to improve access to contraception.
