Sexual Health are now running sit and wait clinics across the county.
- If you have symptoms you will need to attend a sit and wait clinic.
- If you require contraception you will need to attend a contraception sit and wait clinic.

Numbers will be capped therefore we advise arriving as close to the start time as possible.
- Monday: 9:30am to 11am for symptoms only
- Tuesday: 3:30pm to 5pm for age 21 and under only
- Wednesday: 9:30am to 12 midday for contraception only
- Thursday: 9:30am to 11am for symptoms only
- Friday: 9:30am to 11am for symptoms only
Solway Clinic is located in Carlisle and can be accessed by road and public transport. If you’re on a low income you may be eligible for help with travel costs.
By road
From the M6/A6:
- exit at junction 42 following signs for Carlisle
- stay on the A6 London Road for 2.5 miles
- Solway Clinic is on the left
From the M6/A7:
- exit at junction 44 following signs for Carlisle
- follow the road for 2 miles
- at Hardwicke Circus roundabout follow road markings for South and East
- continue straight onto Spencer Street and Brunswick Street
- turn right onto Tait Street
- at the end of the road turn left onto Botchergate
- continue on this road for half a mile and Solway Clinic is on the right
By bus
Stagecoach run buses from the surrounding area to bus stops close to Solway Clinic. Use the Stagecoach website to plan your journey.
By train
If you’re arriving into Carlisle by train, Solway Clinic is a 20 minute walk from the station.
There’s a free car park located in front of the main entrance to Solway Clinic. There are also spaces for disabled drivers.
