Birchwood Clinic is Situated in the grounds of the Furness General Hospital car park at the bottom left hand side.

Numbers will be capped therefore we advise arriving as close to the start time as possible.

- Wednesday: 9:30am to 12 midday for contraception only
- Friday: 9:30am to 11am for symptoms only
Birchwood Clinic is within the grounds of Furness General Hospital. It can be accessed by road and public transport. If you’re on a low income you may be eligible for help with travel costs.
By road
From the A590:
- at the Park Road roundabout take the 1st exit
- follow signs for Furness General Hospital onto Abbey Road
- turn right onto Dalton Lane
- turn left into the entrance for Furness General Hospital
- turn left and left again following signs for Birchwood Clinic
From Dalton:
- from Market Street turn left onto Abbey Road
- continue for 1 mile
- turn right onto Dalton Lane
- turn left into the entrance for Furness General Hospital
- turn left and left again following signs for Birchwood Clinic
From Barrow town centre:
- follow signs to Dalton along Abbey Road
- turn left into the entrance for Furness General Hospital
- turn right and right again following signs for Birchwood Clinic
By bus
Stagecoach run buses from the surrounding area to bus stops close to Furness General Hospital. Use the Stagecoach website to plan your journey.
By train
If you’re arriving into Barrow by train, you can take the number 6 bus from the Magistrates Courts (Stop S) to Furness General Hospital. There’s also a taxi rank in front of the station. Walking from the train station to Furness General Hospital takes 50
The car park is located in front of Birchwood Clinic. There are bays for disabled visitors close to the main entrance.
Charges
Parking for blue badge holders is free. All other visitors must buy a pay and display ticket. Please visit the Furness General Hospital website for latest prices.
