Orthovision 2023 is a landmark national event hosted by NCIC, designed to offer an immersive experience in the world of orthopaedic surgery.

The orthovision workshop that will introduce you to the world of orthopaedics, and include the practice of basic orthopaedic skills on bone saw models.

Taking place in for the first time in Carlisle, the workshop welcomes Specialty Trainees 1 and 2 and Core Trainees 1 and 2 from across the UK to attend. Six CPD points are being awarded to attendees by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.ORTHOVISION  12023.jpg

The day includes four workshops with bone saw models:

  • Proximal Femur Fixation
  • Wrist fixation
  • Ankle fixation
  • External fixator

…and an afternoon session of presentations.

By doing so, we aim to equip participants with the fundamental knowledge necessary to navigate this challenging field.
  • Familiarisation with Common Orthopaedic Implants: In order to enhance the proficiency of our attendees, Orthovision 2023 will delve into the realm of orthopaedic implants. We will explore the most commonly used implants for treating fractures, ensuring that attendees gain a solid grasp of their applications and intricacies.
  • Hands-On Approach to Fracture Fixation: We recognize the importance of practical experience in medical training. Attendees will have the opportunity to partake in hands-on fracture fixation exercises, enhancing their fine motor skills within a safe and controlled environment.
