On behalf of the Trust we are deeply saddened by the news that Her Majesty the Queen has passed away.

The Queen dedicated her life to public service and we were honoured that she awarded NHS staff the George Cross earlier this year.

There will be very few people who will be able to recall another monarch on the throne and we stand with our staff, patients and our community in mourning along with the rest of the country.

Above all, the Queen was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and our deepest condolences are with the Royal Family at this very sad time.

Our flags will fly at half-mast in line with protocol and you will notice that all non-essential communications will be suspended at this time.

Books of condolence will also be situated around the county in key community buildings. The list of locations will be available shortly via the Cumbria County Council website.  Messages of condolences can also be left online on the royal family website.
