West Cumbria Int Nurses.jpegThe latest group of international nursing recruits have arrived in west Cumbria and are being welcomed to North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and the staff at the West Cumberland Hospital.

The nurses are currently undergoing training with clinical educator Tracey Tessier-Varlet and will begin working on the wards from the middle of June.

Tracey said:

“The nurses are such a welcome addition to our team here at WCH, they are keen to learn and share their knowledge and skills with us. The nurses will be each joining different teams across the sites and have received such a warm welcome from our existing staff.”

This group of nurses are the first cohort to join the West Cumberland site with another set to join us in August of this year.

Georgia Wright, Deputy Chief Nurse said: Welcome to NCIC, it's fantastic to see you all here as part of our international recruitment programme. We're now up to 62 international nurses which is great. We’re really happy that you chose to come to us, Cumbria is a beautiful place to work and live. I look forward to seeing you all on the wards.”

The nurses have been building upon their skillset by attending a day of practical workshops at CIC this week.

On behalf of everyone at NCIC we welcome the nurses to the Trust and the local area and hope they feel at home here in Cumbria.
