We’re always on the lookout for great people to join our team. From newly qualified staff to those with more experience, we have a range of careers opportunities available.

As a centre of excellence in providing rural and remote healthcare, we can provide you lots of unique opportunities for your personal and professional development.

You’ll also be surrounded by an exceptional team of supportive colleagues. Caring for patients is our top priority and our staff always go the extra mile. This is recognised through our weekly Glimpse of Brilliance nominations and annual We Celebrate awards.

We work collaboratively with our partners to provide joined-up care for patients by working as an Integrated Care System. This has put north Cumbria at the forefront of national policy and innovation.

We’re committed to continuously investing in our services. Currently we're working on:

  • a new £35m cancer centre that is being built at Cumberland Infirmary
  • the 2nd phase of our West Cumberland Hospital redevelopment has had £90m of investment
  • introducing digital maternity notes
  • providing more care in the community, through our Integrated Care Communities
  • investing in our staff though benefits and training

Fiona Pallistar, midwife at Cumberland Infirmary, said:

“I think the Trust is a really good place to come and train, ideas are really embraced by the managers here. I was previously a mortgage advisor so it’s an entirely different career but I’ve been encouraged to use the skills that I gained from that and transfer them into my new career.”

Vanessa Connor, Integrated Care Community Development Manager, said:

“Cumbria is an amazing place to live, work and play. In the morning you could be working in a seaside town by the afternoon you could be up a Lake District fell. It’s a great place to bring up a family and I wouldn’t live anywhere other than Cumbria."
