Changes are being made to the pedestrian access at the West Cumberland Hospital from the bus stop on Homewood Road.

In order to install the kerb line for the new road at the West Cumberland Hospital, workmen need to move the hoarding out across the existing footpath for up to eight weeks. During these works pedestrians to take an alternative route from Homewood Road to the main hospital entrance.

Pedestrians will need to use the public footpath directly adjacent to Homewood Road and come up the steps, to access the main hospital entrance doors. A ramp has been installed alongside the steps to allow access for wheelchair users and a small ramp has been added to provide for wheelchair access at the kerb on the hospital ring road.

The work is expected to start the week beginning November 6th.

This change will impact those who travel by bus or anyone who is dropped off at the kerbside on Homewood Road.
