Hair shave fundraising.JPGStephen Hewitt and Ronan Irving, physiotherapists at the Cumberland Infirmary, wanted to help patients connect with their family and friends during the COVID-19 crisis and set out on a mission to fund raise to buy ipads to help them feel connected.

On Wednesday 15th April Stephen and his physiotherapy colleagues Ronan Irving, Lee Jemma, Jimmy Steele, Connor Heslop, Andrew Dorken, James Ord, John Mulligan, Alex Thompson, Josef Frank  and Jamie Bell will be having their heads shaved by the female physiotherapists as part of the fund raising campaign.
The team are overwhelmed as they have already raised almost £5000 in a week to purchase the ipads.

Stephen said “The amount raised so far is way beyond our original Hair shave fundraising1.JPGexpectations. I am delighted and would like to thank everyone who has donated and supported us with this. This will mean so much to our patients and their families while visiting the hospital is not allowed, due to COVID-19. We will be helping those who need it, enabling them to have conversations and see their loved ones on the screens.

“I would also like to thank Interserve for their generosity.”
