Elections open today for six seats on the Governor’s Council of North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Members of the Trust were invited to put forward nominations last month for 15 public and staff vacant seats.   

In the following constituencies there are more candidates than seats and therefore elections will be held:

Public: Carlisle

There are three candidates and two vacant seats

  • James Porter
  • Alan Toole
  • Barry Harrington

Public: South Lakeland

There are three candidates and two vacant seats

  • Mary Hargreave
  • George Butler
  • Jacqueline Clarke

Staff: Carlisle and Eden

There are three candidates and two vacant seats

  • Claire Oliver-Gibson
  • Georgina Craig
  • Mark Harper

Members in those constituencies should look out for their ballot papers with more details of each candidate either via email or to their home address.

William Miskelly, Deputy Lead Governor, said: “I’d ask you to vote in the elections if you receive a ballot paper, we are really keen that as many people as possible have their say.”

Four candidates have been elected unopposed. They are:

Public: Allerdale

  • Christine Clark
  • John Couhlan
  • Leslie Blacklock

Public: Eden

  • Daniel Sencier

Voting closes at 5pm on Friday, September 23.
