We have launched a Winter Festival to help businesses show their support to our NHS heroes.

The festival, organised by North Cumbria Hospitals NHS Charity, aims to bring some Christmas cheer to our sites.  It will also raise funds for our charity, which provides resources and facilities to meet the needs of our patients and their families, and the wellbeing of our staff.

Clare Warwick, Charity Fundraising Lead at NCIC, said: “The last 18 months have undoubtedly been one of the toughest periods in the history of the NHS, but the acts of kindness shown to us here at the Trust have given everyone a huge morale boost.

“We have a range of activities planned as part of the winter festival and we need your help to make them happen. We want to ensure all our premises have a Christmas tree with lights, we want to project Stars onto our two main hospitals and we want to be able to offer staff the chance of winning some prizes as part of our advent calendar campaign.”

The NHS doesn’t have a budget for Christmas trees and festive celebrations which is why we are appealing to local businesses to help us spread the festive cheer across all our service’s in the county.

We have three packages available for you to buy this festive season:

Package 1 £250 – Christmas tree

You can sponsor a 6ft Christmas tree and lights that will be put up and showcased outside your chosen NCIC hospital, including our community sites. Your logo will be displayed on the tree and your kindness will be promoted on social media and in our press release.

Package 2 £600 – Star lights

You can sponsor the star lights, which will be projected on our two acute hospitals, The Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital. Your kindness will be promoted across our social media on the day and also in press releases.

Package 3 £1,000 – Star lights and wellbeing event

You can sponsor our star lights, a prize for our staff advent calendar and you will receive 25 places on the Million Steps Wellbeing event for your own staff (worth nearly £500). The Million Steps Challenge starts on 1st January

The money raised will go towards North Cumbria Hospitals NHS Charity. The charity exists to provide resources and facilities to meet the needs of our patients and their families.

The charity covers costs of projects and initiatives which are not covered by core NHS funding.
