ncic1.jpgAn event showcasing career opportunities in west Cumbria attracted over 80 attendees.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC), GRAHAM, and Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW) all came together on Saturday 8th October to talk about their current job opportunities.

The day, hosted at West Cumberland Hospital (WCH), saw staff from the three organisations discuss a variety of roles including:

  • Health Care Assistants
  • Catering staff
  • Administration roles
  • Portering roles
  • Project administrators
  • Work experience placements for individuals seeking a career in construction
  • Site operative roles with GRAHAM supply chain will commence later in the build

Amanda and guest.jpgAmanda Dunkley, Assistant Director People Services at NCIC, said:

“We’re thrilled with the turn out for our recruitment event at WCH. It was great to meet so many people ready for their next career move. It is so valuable to be able to get out and have face-to-face conversations and be able to answer any questions as well as offer practical advice.

The event also demonstrates that as well as improving patient care and experience, the redevelopment of West Cumberland Hospital is also bringing more jobs into the area, not just within the NHS but with our construction partner too. We hope to plan some more of these joint events in the future.”

The joint event developed as part of the ongoing work between NCIC and GRAHAM who are currently working on the £40m phase two of the redevelopment of WCH.GRAHAMs1.jpg

Peter Reavey, Regional Director at GRAHAM, commented:

“We’d like to thank everyone who showed up to our recruitment event at West Cumberland Hospital. It was a brilliant turnout and we were heartened to meet so many local people and businesses who want to contribute to the wonderful work happening at the hospital. We hope that we were able to impart some good advice and look forward to hosting more of these events in future alongside our partners.”

If you were unable to make the day but are interested in seeing what opportunities are available, you can see all our current vacancies online. You can also keep up with the latest news on the redevelopment.
