Anaesthesia7.jpgA one-day Ultrasound Course - attracting speakers and professionals from across the country - has been held at the Cumberland Infirmary.

Dr Mohamed Mohamed, consultant anaesthetist and lead of regional anaesthesia at The Cumberland Infirmary, organised the course on February 25.

He said: “The course was fantastic with amazing feedback from everyone - instructors from other hospitals in the country and our candidates.

“We have had a full list of attendants - 20 in number and 10 faculty from our hospital, Cambridge, the RVI and Gateshead.

“We are planning for the same course same time next year and hopefully every year after our successful day yesterday.”

In the morning, Dr David Buckley gave a lecture on Safety in Regional Anaesthesia and Physics; Dr Kaled Elnagar talked about Upper Limb Blocks; Dr Ashwani Gupta spoke about Lower Limb Blocks; Dr Ahmed Elrefaey talked about Abdominal Blocks and Dr Mohamed Mohamed focused on Neuroaxial Ultrasound and ESP blocks.

The afternoon session featured live scanning on models.
