Your treatment today involved taking a small sample of skin (punch biopsy) from your cervix. Silver nitrate was used to control the bleeding. You may have some bleeding and a dark grey discharge caused by the silver nitrate for approximately 48 hours. In order to prevent infection it is advisable to shower rather than bath and it is advisable for the next 2-3 days to use pads rather than tampons and you should avoid intercourse. You will receive a results letter in approximately 4 weeks informing you of your results and follow-up if required.
