A small cervical polyp has been removed from your cervix today. You may have some bleeding or dark discharge for approximately 48 hours.  In order to prevent infection it is advisable for the next 2-3 days to shower rather than bath, to use pads instead of tampons and you should avoid intercourse. Some women may experience mild pain. If this occurs we recommend mild pain relief such as paracetamol or ibuprofen during the next 24 hours to help ease these symptoms.

You will receive your results letter in approximately 4 weeks informing you of your results and follow-up if required.

If you have questions or concerns you can contact our department on 01228 814264 or 01946 523211.
