Trust marks Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is aimed at people with a lung condition who’s ability to be active is limited by breathing difficulties and is the only treatment that will help to reduce breathlessness, increase exercise tolerance and improve quality of life.

Medical Gas and Medical Pipeline System Policy
This policy is to ensure the effective management of medical gases within the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). This includes the provision of safe, secure and reliable systems, including medical gas pipelines, cylinders and associated equipment.
Medicines - Possession of Substances Liable to Abuse Policy
This Policy sets out the procedures that must be implemented if staff suspect that a patient in their care or a visitor is illegally in possession of, or supplying or using what is believed to be or suspected of being an illicit substance.
Medicines Reconciliation for Adult Patients Policy
This policy sets out the procedural steps needed to ensure that an accurate medication history is taken for patients on admission to North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) hospitals.
Self Administration of Medicines Policy
This policy gives guidance to the circumstances where self-administration of medicines by patients when in a hospital setting is approved and supported. It also allows for patients/carers administering medicines to patients, where this is usual practice at home.
