International Nurses Day 2025
Today is International Nurses Day, and it is an opportunity to celebrate our nurses, who make a difference to our patient’s lives every single day. One of our Intensive Care Unit nurses, Georgie Murphy, has shared why she chose a career in nursing:
National survey: 99% of parents able to stay with children and young people as needed on our wards
Children and young people, and their parents and carers, were happy with the type of wards they stayed on and felt involved in decisions about care and treatment, according to the results of a national survey by the Care Quality Commission published today (Thursday 22 May).
Meet some of NCIC's volunteers
Volunteers bring a richness to organisations across the country. There is no better time to recognise the diversity of our volunteers and celebrate the difference that volunteering makes than during Volunteers’ Week. Without volunteers many charities just simply could not function, with so many people giving up their time and going above and beyond.
Promoting careers in medicine event
The Trust is hosting its annual event to showcase the diverse careers in medicine that young people in Cumbria can follow. It will take place on July 4 and 5 at the Cumberland infirmary and will give those school students in years 11-13 the opportunity to speak to a range of medical professionals about what it's like to work for the NHS.

Sharing more maternity data each month following feedback
