Paediatrics (child health)
The Paediatrics service diagnoses and treats medical conditions affecting children and young people up to the age of 16. We also have a non-urgent service called Community Paediatrics that treats children and young people up to the age of 18.
Stroke
The Stroke service provides rapid assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and support to stroke patients and their families. Our specialist team is available 24 hours a day.
Occupational Therapy
The Occupational Therapy team aims to improve your ability to do everyday tasks if you're having difficulties. We work with patients of all ages who have physical health problems, psychological or social problems.
Trauma and Orthopaedics
The Trauma and Orthopaedics department diagnose and treat conditions relating to bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. Most commonly we investigate things like broken bones, deformities, infections and tumours.

Medical Gas and Medical Pipeline System Policy
This policy is to ensure the effective management of medical gases within the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). This includes the provision of safe, secure and reliable systems, including medical gas pipelines, cylinders and associated equipment.
Medicines - Possession of Substances Liable to Abuse Policy
This Policy sets out the procedures that must be implemented if staff suspect that a patient in their care or a visitor is illegally in possession of, or supplying or using what is believed to be or suspected of being an illicit substance.
Medicines Reconciliation for Adult Patients Policy
This policy sets out the procedural steps needed to ensure that an accurate medication history is taken for patients on admission to North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) hospitals.
Self Administration of Medicines Policy
This policy gives guidance to the circumstances where self-administration of medicines by patients when in a hospital setting is approved and supported. It also allows for patients/carers administering medicines to patients, where this is usual practice at home.
