Penrith UTC delivers new care close to home for more than 500 patients.

Since last November Penrith’s Urgent Treatment Centre has been providing more services to the local population.  The change in opening hours meant that the staff were able to learn new skills to deliver ongoing treatments for a range of conditions as well as deal with the steady stream of people walking in with their minor injuries and illnesses.

Overseas nurse Meena nominated for award

Meena Sarangapani, who works on Elm C at the Cumberland Infirmary, has been nominated for the Overseas Nurse of the Year at the Nursing Times Workforce Summit and Awards.

Falls awareness week – Recycle or renew your walking aids

As part of national falls awareness week the Trust is offering free ‘MOTs’ for walking aids and urging anyone with walking aid they no longer need to bring them back so they can be recycled.

Trust trains 17 breast feeding lactation consultants

The staff – who have a passion for supporting families with infant feeding – have spent the last 18 months completing the intensive training to prepare them to sit the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) exam.
